FAQs - Trehan International Nurse Sponsorship Program

What are the requirements to be eligible for the nurse sponsorship program with Trehan International?

To be eligible, you must be a nurse from an accredited college of nursing, have an active and unrestricted license without sanctions or discipline in your home country, and have at least one year of current bedside nursing experience in a tertiary-level hospital before traveling to the U.S. We also prefer experience in medical surgical, telemetry, progressive care unit, ICU, CCU, hemodialysis, or emergency department.

What are the steps towards becoming a Trehan nurse and what responsibilities do I have?

The steps include passing the NCLEX-RN exam with assistance from Trehan International, submitting necessary documents for the immigration petition, passing the IELTS or PTE English exam within four months of passing NCLEX, obtaining the Visa Screen Certificate with assistance from Trehan International, completing additional forms for the National Visa Center, attending the US Consulate interview, completing immigration medicals, and receiving a US visa. As a nurse, you are responsible for passing the exams, providing necessary documents, and attending training and education at Trehan’s client’s office in the USA.

What is the NCLEX-RN exam pattern?

The NCLEX-RN exam is a computerized adaptive test with 75 to 265 questions. It includes pretest items that are not scored and can vary in length for up to six hours. It’s important to note that the allotted time for the examination includes the tutorial, sample items, breaks, and the examination itself.

What is the Visa Screen Certificate and why is it required?

The Visa Screen Certificate is a program that requires healthcare professionals to complete screening before receiving a U.S. Visa. It assesses the applicant’s education, verifies professional licenses and English language proficiency, and confirms passage of qualifying exams. The Visa Screen Certificate is valid for five years and satisfies the United States Federal screening requirements.

What happens after I arrive in the U.S. through the nurse sponsorship program?

Once you arrive in the U.S., the focus is on training and work assignment. Trehan International helps with coordinating housing, transportation, and other logistics. Your spouse and children may follow a few months later. You will also receive assistance with obtaining a Social Security Number, and Trehan International will coach you for interviews with client hospitals/facilities. Clinical training will be provided at the client’s site in TN, USA.

Who will cover the expenses during the nurse sponsorship program?

Trehan International’s client will purchase your one-way ticket to the USA. Additionally, Trehan International will coordinate housing, car, and bank account arrangements. Accommodations, transportation to the client’s office, and pre-deployment medicals will be provided.
